Multiculti Co's Middle East Collection is handmade with love by Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Jordan.
As of November 2015, there were 1,265,000 Syrian Refugees in Jordan, and over 2 million Palestinian refugees, the majority of whom live in abject poverty.
Multiculti Co is working with Syrian and Palestinian refugee women and Jordanians to produce bespoke women and children's clothing, using their traditional headscarf material (keffiyeh). The red and white keffiyeh is traditionally worn by Syrian and Jordanians, and the black and white keffiyeh is traditional to Palestine (as made famous by Yasser Arafat).
In purchasing this clothing made exclusively for Multiculti Co, you will have a direct impact on providing a sustainable income to refugee women, which they will use to support their children's health and education. The video below tells the story of the Syrian, Palestinian and Jordanian women who sew for Multiculti Co.
